My tool for survival in Data Science training 👌

When I started my data science journey last August, a lot of things have changed in me. My routine completely changed from “work-eat-sleep repeat” to “work-eat-STUDY-less sleep repeat”. It's not an easy journey take but I love what I’m doing, and soon everything will be worth it.

And as studying became part of my daily routine, music also became a part of it too. My study set-up would always have Youtube played in the background (since I don’t like to pay apps and I don’t really mind the ads 😂). Here’s a snippet of what my Youtube homepage looks like.

My Youtube home

It’s mostly videos to be played for hours of studying, and all of them are either mellow or Lo-fi music. Unlike before, I’m always up to date with pop music cause I love listening to upbeat songs that you can also dance along to.

Lo-fi music videos are recommended daily to me but I was the first one who searched for it. Then after the first searched I did, it never left my sight every time I open youtube. And I actually like how youtube made it for me cause I always get to listen to new relaxing music. Also, listening to these kinds of music can keep me up for hours to work on our capstone project and study.

I’ve also noticed that sometimes recommendations are coming from the same channel. And also sometimes, they have the same title just from a different channel.

Since I don’t pay for a premium account, I have to deal with skipping ads. And the most common ads that pop out in the videos I play are applications where I can learn from “how to code in python” to “how to become a developer at Google” and the likes. As of now, these ads don’t do much for me and all I did was wait for 5 seconds to skip them (sorry Youtube 😂). I’m just busy with the data science training I have now. Maybe next time after I finished the program I can check them all out. I just hope they still appear again cause sometimes they change because I keep ignoring them.
